Please read this Agreement carefully. It contains important information about platform use, payment, independent business responsibilities, disputes, and limitations of liability.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, accessing SelectTech, posting or accepting work, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to this User Agreement and the policies incorporated into it. You must be at least 18 years old, able to enter a binding contract, and provide accurate account information. If you use SelectTech for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. SelectTech’s role
SelectTech provides technology that helps independent businesses and field professionals find one another, define work, communicate, document performance, invoice, and facilitate payment. SelectTech is not the employer, staffing agency, agent, joint venturer, or supervisor of a user. The company posting work and the technician accepting it form their own service relationship, subject to this Agreement.
3. Accounts and security
Each person must use their own account and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and must promptly report suspected unauthorized access. SelectTech may verify identity, business information, credentials, insurance, tax information, or other facts, but a badge or verification does not guarantee future performance.
4. Work orders and offers
Companies must describe work, location, timing, deliverables, qualifications, access conditions, safety requirements, and advertised technician pay accurately. Technicians must review the work order, ask necessary questions, disclose conflicts or limitations, and accept only work they are qualified and able to perform. A request, counteroffer, acceptance, assignment, change order, message, time entry, and closeout submission may form part of the parties’ service record.
5. Free accounts, service fee, and technician pay
Accounts and job posting are free. The advertised work amount is the amount payable to the technician for accepted and completed work, subject only to authorized changes, disputes, refunds, taxes, or legally required withholding. SelectTech does not deduct its platform fee from that advertised amount. The hiring company is charged the advertised work amount plus a SelectTech service fee equal to 10% of that amount. For example, a $1,000 work order pays the technician $1,000, the company pays $1,100, and SelectTech earns $100.
6. Authorization, invoicing, and payout
A company may be required to authorize a payment method before assignment or work begins. Technicians must submit truthful time, expenses, proof, and invoices. Companies must review submissions promptly and identify specific deficiencies in good faith. Payout timing may depend on approval, payment processing, fraud review, banking networks, disputes, or law. Third-party payment providers may impose additional terms.
7. Changes, cancellation, and disputes
Material changes to scope, schedule, location, quantity, or price should be documented through SelectTech before the changed work is performed. Users must communicate promptly about delays and cancellations and make reasonable efforts to limit loss. SelectTech may review platform records and facilitate resolution, but the parties remain responsible for their underlying service agreement unless applicable law provides otherwise.
8. Independent business responsibilities
Users are responsible for licenses, permits, taxes, insurance, worker classification, wages, benefits, equipment, transportation, and compliance applicable to their business and work. Technicians control how they perform the accepted work, subject to the work order’s result, site rules, safety requirements, and law. Nothing in the platform creates employment with SelectTech.
9. Safety and site access
Companies must disclose known material hazards and provide lawful, reasonably safe access. Technicians must follow applicable safety rules, use appropriate training and protective equipment, and stop work when conditions present an imminent or undisclosed danger. Emergencies should be reported to local emergency services before platform support.
10. Content, proof, and confidentiality
You retain ownership of content you submit, while granting SelectTech a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the platform. Users must protect confidential information and may not upload information they lack the right to share. Work-order photos, signatures, serial numbers, messages, and location records must be limited to legitimate service purposes.
11. Reviews and marketplace integrity
Reviews must reflect genuine first-hand experience and may not be purchased, coerced, retaliatory, misleading, or manipulated. Users may not bypass platform fees on relationships introduced through SelectTech, impersonate others, scrape data, interfere with security, discriminate unlawfully, send spam, post illegal work, or misuse personal or precise location information.
12. Maps and third-party services
Address suggestions, maps, routing, payment processing, identity checks, communications, and other features may be provided by third parties and are subject to their terms. Map and route information can be incomplete or inaccurate; users must independently confirm the job site, access instructions, road conditions, and safe route.
13. Intellectual property
SelectTech and its licensors own the platform, software, design, trademarks, and related intellectual property. Subject to this Agreement, SelectTech grants you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the platform for legitimate marketplace activity. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell, or create derivative services from protected portions of the platform except where law expressly permits.
14. Suspension and termination
SelectTech may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to protect users, investigate suspected fraud or abuse, comply with law, address nonpayment, enforce this Agreement, or protect platform integrity. You may stop using the platform at any time, but existing payment, confidentiality, dispute, and other accrued obligations survive.
15. Disclaimers
The platform is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SelectTech disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and any guarantee that a user, work order, credential, route, payment, or outcome will meet expectations. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so portions may not apply to you.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SelectTech will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, personal disputes between users, or acts or omissions at a job site. SelectTech’s aggregate liability arising from the platform will not exceed the greater of fees paid to SelectTech by you during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or $100. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited.
17. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SelectTech and its personnel from third-party claims arising from your work, content, business, breach of this Agreement, violation of law, or infringement of another person’s rights, except to the extent caused by SelectTech’s own unlawful conduct.
18. Law and dispute process
Before filing a formal claim, you and SelectTech agree to send written notice describing the issue and allow 30 days for good-faith resolution. This Agreement is governed by applicable United States law and the law of the state where SelectTech maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any mandatory consumer, worker, small-claims, or other statutory rights remain available.
19. Changes and notices
SelectTech may update this Agreement as the platform or law changes. Material updates will be presented through the platform or sent to the account email, with a new effective date. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Electronic notices and records satisfy written-notice requirements unless law requires another method.
20. General terms and contact
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this Agreement without SelectTech’s consent. This Agreement and incorporated policies are the complete platform agreement. Legal or support questions may be submitted through the support channel associated with your SelectTech account.
